Tourism experts turn to Dubai in times
During a time of uncertainty and falling revenues in the travel and tourism industry, hotels and airlines are looking towards Dubai for solutions. Arabian Travel Market(ATM), the regional exhibition for the tourism sector, has seen a decline in the number of exhibitors this year, but it has attracted new entrants. New countries with a presence at the ATM this year include Romania and Cambodia, as well as new regional and international carriers such as Swiss Airlines, Jazeera Airways and Wataniya Airways. Those with a larger contributions to the show this year are Abu dhabi, HongKong, Thailand, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius and the Kenya tourist board. Authorities are working towards continued growth in tourism and demand is still expected to increase and will be satisfied as a number of new hotels are planned to launch in Dubai this year. The hotel brand, Pullman hotels and resorts, a East and Najid AI Futtain properties, announced on Saturday that it would be launching its first hotel in Dubai this year. The exhibition this year signed up over 2,100 exhibitors and stand-shares, from 69 countries. Though the show saw significant growth in the past five years much like the region and indeed the rest of the world, we have seen a slight correction in 2009, group exhibitions director of ATM, Last year’s event broke all our previous records, so it would be inappropriate to compare what happened in May 2008 with now. India – one of the most favored tourist destinations
According to the latest Tourism Satellite Accounting (TSA) research released by the World Travel and Tourism Council India’s travel and tourism industry was estimated to have generated approximately US$100 billion in 2008. This figure is expected to go up to almost US$275.5 billion by 2018, growing at an average of 9.4 percent over the next 10 years. Moreover, according to TSA research, travel and tourism is expected to contribute 3.1 percent to India’s GDP and provide almost 40 million jobs by 2018. As the financial capital of India, Mumbai features on every India travel itinerary. With good air, road and rail connectivity, the city attracts tourists from all over India and overseas. India as a country offers exciting and diverse experiences to tourists. Each state has its own unique traditions, culture and cuisine. Apart from this, the country has excellent beaches, backwaters, Ayurvedic health resorts, ancient monuments, world heritage sites, forts, palaces, hill stations and wildlife. Darjeeling- The dream land of east India
Situated at an altitude of 2590 meters (8482 ft.) and 13 kilometers from the town, this spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise over the “Kanchanjunga” and the great eastern Himalayan Mountains. Even Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, is visible from here. The hesitant rays of the early morning sun paint these peaks in pale gold. Darjeeling, also known as the queen of the hill stations is the pride hill station of West Bengal. It is one of India’s most famous hill resorts. It is 2134 m or 7000ft above sea level. The name Darjeeling is thought to be a derivation of ‘Dorjeerling’ meaning the place of the Dorjee, the majestic thunderbolt of the Lamaist religion. In fact, the famous Buddhist Monastery standing at the top of the Observatory hill was known by this name. The district was the part of the dominions of the Raja of Sikkim up to the beginning of the 18th century. In 1835, Darjeeling was given to the East India Company by the King of Sikkim. It became a popular resort for the British who wanted to escape from the sweltering heat of the plains. Tiger hills is the highest point in the area which provides the most exotic view of the Kanchenjunga peaks. From this place the other peaks of sight of Mt.Everest is just enthralling. The toy train coming from Siliguri is something which is liked by the elders and the children equally. The real fun in coming to Darjeeeling is on the toy train. It takes six to seven hours to cover a distance of 82kms and the slow speed gives you enough time to watch and appreciate the beauty which nature has provided it. This train passes through the Forests, waterfalls, over deep valleys and through the mountains and tunnels.

Its basic contours, uplifted by these unimaginable tectonic movements, have been modified over the millennium by the opposite process of erosion, sculpted into the form we see today by wind and water.
Leh ladakh – Leh is the capital of ladakh. The place is bounded by two of the world’s mightiest mountain ranges in the world, the great Himalayas and the lofty Karakoram and transversely lies in between the ladakh range and he zaskar range. It forms a perfect intersection of mountains that ads to the serenity of the place. Ladakh lies in rain shadow area and is often called as the high altitude cold desert of Northern India. The average altitude of the place lies in between 9000 feet to 25, 170 feet. The summers are pleasant and the best time for visiting the place with maximum temperature of 27 degree. The winters are extremely harsh and most of the time the temperature plummets to minus 20 degrees.
